Pastors from reality T.V. show to speak at conference hosted by EMU students

Pastors from the reality T.V. show, “Pastors of Detroit,” will speak at Eastern Michigan University’s Pinky Promise Student Organization’s “Proverbs 31 Women” conference at 5 p.m., Friday in the McKenny Hall Ballroom.

Reverend David Bullock and Pastor Timothy Alden are coming to EMU to speak. Elder Reverend Cheryl Crawford Sangster will also speak. Entertainment will be provided by Sangster, EMU student Tristin Taylor and Divine Purpose Dance Ministries from New St. Lazarus Missionary Baptist Church.

Gabrielle Burgess-Smith, the president of EMU’s chapter of Pinky Promise, planned the conference. She said the speakers will give their “anointed insight” on a Proverbs 31 woman.

“I am delighted to be able to give back to the campus community in a way such as this,” Burgess-Smith said. “I really hope people get a good word from it and are encouraged by it.”

The LBC-approved event is free and will include giveaways and food.

Pinky Promise holds general meetings and bible study every other Thursday in the Student Center, Room 304.
